Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA is seeking a Registered Nurse for Day Surgery to deliver high-quality perioperative care. You will educate patients about procedures, collaborate with surgeons and staff, and help ensure safety throughout the perioperative process.

Strong clinical judgment, leadership, and the ability to work within a dynamic interdisciplinary team are essential. On-call may be required during select non-business hours.

Qualifikationen

• RN licensure required.
• Nursing degree or diploma required.
• Prior perioperative or day surgery experience preferred.

Aufgaben

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols, according to hospital policy.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team including providers, surgeons, surgical technologists, and more.
• Routinely apply the nursing process, clinical judgment, and leadership to safely care for patients.
• Assess patient condition, monitor during shift, and document changes accurately.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up.
