Job summary

North Community Counseling Centers seeks a Peer Support Specialist to provide recovery-oriented support to clients in behavioral health treatment. The role leverages lived experience to inspire hope, assist with coping, and promote goal attainment within a multidisciplinary team.

The candidate will document services in CareLogic, collaborate with clinicians, and help connect clients to community resources. A compassionate, reliable self-starter with strong communication is ideal.

Qualifications

• Experience in behavioral health or community mental health preferred.
• Lived experience with mental health recovery required.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support services using lived experience and recovery principles.
• Help clients develop coping skills and recovery strategies.
• Connect clients with community resources and support services.
• Support clients in achieving individualized treatment and recovery goals.
• Provide advocacy, encouragement, and role modeling.
• Collaborate with clinical staff as part of the treatment team.
• Complete timely documentation in the EMR (CareLogic).
• Maintain ethical, therapeutic relationships and client confidentiality.
