Job summary

Wellstar is seeking a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist to provide acute care coverage in a collaborative hospital setting. The role supports assessment and treatment of communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders to optimize patient outcomes.

The position requires clinical expertise, adherence to regulatory standards, and the ability to work a minimum of two weekend days per month plus one holiday annually, with ongoing professional development and family education as part of the care team.

Qualifications

• Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• SLP license required (state licensure).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) or ARC-BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Implements the speech language therapy treatment plan.
• Assesses patients and adjusts care plans with physician input.
• Documents evaluation and plan of care per guidelines.
• Provides patient/family education and discharge planning.
• Collaborates with staff and physicians on rehabilitation services.
