Job summary

Fiberhire is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a PRN position in Newburyport, MA. The role supports licensed Physical Therapists and the rehabilitation team to improve mobility and independence.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, guiding exercises, documenting progress, and educating patients and caregivers. Massachusetts PTA license and CPR/BLS are required or preferred; strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts PTA license valid and current.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• CPR/BLS certification current or required.
• Experience in skilled nursing or rehab settings preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatment and rehabilitation services under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, and independence.
• Assist patients with exercises, transfers, gait training, and activities.
• Monitor progress and communicate changes to supervising PT and clinical staff.
• Document treatments and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility, safety and devices.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures, promoting patient safety.
• Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, physicians and care team.
• Maintain a professional environment supporting patient participation and progress.
• Assist patients in achieving maximum independence and quality of life.
• Follow all relevant regulations and policies.
