Job summary

HCA Florida Lehigh Hospital in Lehigh Acres, FL, is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) on a PRN/Per Diem basis to join a collaborative inpatient rehab team. You will deliver individualized therapy, support mobility, and help patients regain independence.

You will work closely with supervising PTs, nurses, and aides, applying PT techniques, monitoring progress, and documenting responses to ensure safe, effective care. Florida PTA licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Florida PTA license (clear/active) required.
• Current Functional Independence Measure (FIM) required.
• Experience in inpatient rehab preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic exercises and functional training to help patients regain independence and mobility.
• Apply physical therapy techniques and modalities to reduce pain and restore function.
• Monitor patient progress and document responses for safe, effective care.
• Teach patients and families how to use assistive devices and follow home exercise programs.
• Collaborate with PTs, nurses, aides, and the care team to enhance patient experience.
