Job summary

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (LPTA) to join our team on a PRN basis. You will work under supervising PTs to deliver individualized exercise programs, help patients regain mobility, and support a culture of excellence in care.

This role emphasizes compassionate patient care, collaboration with nurses and aides, and documentation of progress. A current LPTA license and BLS must be obtained within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA) required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• No travel required.

Responsibilities

• Delivering therapeutic exercises and functional training to help patients regain independence and mobility.
• Applying physical therapy techniques and modalities to reduce pain and restore function.
• Monitoring patient progress and documenting responses to ensure safe, effective care.
• Teaching patients and families how to use assistive devices and follow home exercise programs.
• Working closely with PTs, nurses, aides, and the care team to enhance the patient experience and support a culture of excellence.
