Job summary

Louisiana HomeCare of Raceland, part of the LHC Group within the Optum family, seeks an Occupational Therapist Assistant - PRN to provide in-home occupational therapy to patients, helping restore their fullest physical abilities.

You will follow the supervising OT's plan of care, document patient responses, educate families, and adapt to diverse home environments in LA. Requires state licensure, driving access, and 2+ years of OT experience. CPR certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• LA: Must have 2+ years of experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Following all state specific laws governing the provision of occupational therapy in home care, to follow the treatment set only as defined by the supervising OT.
• Following the plan of care, instructs and aids patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant and according to the state laws governing occupational therapy assistants.
• Observes, records, and reports to the nurse supervisor and the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes to the patient's condition.
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team in the areas of therapy within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant.
