Job summary

Louisiana HomeCare of Raceland, part of the LHC Group and a member of the Optum family, seeks a PRN Occupational Therapist Assistant to provide in-home therapy to restore patients’ physical ability.

Responsibilities include following the plan of care under supervision, documenting patient responses, and educating families and care teams. LA requires 2+ years OT experience; driver’s license and reliable vehicle are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• LA: Must have 2+ years of experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Following all state specific laws governing the provision of occupational therapy in home care, to follow the treatment set only as defined by the supervising OT
• Following the plan of care, instructs and aids patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant and according to the state laws governing occupational therapy assistants
• Observes, records, and reports to the nurse supervisor and the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes to the patient's condition
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team in the areas of therapy within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client
