Job summary

Louisiana HomeCare of Raceland, part of the LHC Group and Optum family, is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant - PRN to provide home-based OT services, helping patients regain maximal physical function.

Responsibilities include following treatment plans, educating patients and families, and documenting responses, while complying with state laws and supervising OT directives. CPR could be required within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in state of practice.
• LA: Must have 2+ years of experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Preferred: CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Following all state specific laws governing the provision of occupational therapy in home care, to follow the treatment set only as defined by the supervising OT
• Following the plan of care, instructs and aids patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant and according to the state laws governing occupational therapy assistants
• Observes, records, and reports to the nurse supervisor and the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes to the patient's condition
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team in the areas of therapy within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client

Education

Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in state of practice

Current driver's license and vehicle insurance
