Job summary

Louisiana HomeCare of Raceland, part of LHC Group, seeks an Occupational Therapist Assistant - PRN to provide in-home occupational therapy and restore patients to their fullest physical ability.

You will follow the supervising OT, adhere to the plan of care, and educate patients and families while observing patient progress and responding to changes in condition. State laws govern your practice. This role emphasizes compassionate, evidence-based care across diverse home settings.

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in state of practice
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• LA: Must have 2+ years of experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Following all state specific laws governing the provision of occupational therapy in home care, to follow the treatment set only as defined by the supervising OT
• Following the plan of care, instructs and aids patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant and according to the state laws governing occupational therapy assistants
• Observes, records, and reports to the nurse supervisor and the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes to the patient's condition
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team in the areas of therapy within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client
