Job summary

Chesterton Manor in Chesterton, IN is seeking a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. This role focuses on helping residents improve daily living skills through individualized care and therapy under supervision.

You will implement treatment plans, monitor progress, educate residents and caregivers, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote independence and quality of life in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Indiana.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current BLS certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the rehabilitation team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing individualized occupational therapy treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions to improve residents' strength, coordination, mobility, and ability to perform daily activities.
• Monitor resident progress and communicate changes or concerns to the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary care team.
• Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies that promote continued progress and independence.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow all clinical, facility, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the rehabilitation and interdisciplinary teams to support positive resident outcomes.
