Job summary

Ellie Mental Health–Clarkston is seeking a fully licensed clinician to operate an independent private practice in Michigan, with both in‑person and telehealth services. This 1099 contractor role supports clinicians who want to build or grow their private practice without full administrative burden.

You’ll receive practice infrastructure, credentialing support, billing services, and scheduling tools, while maintaining professional independence and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Michigan license in good standing (LMSW/LPC/LP/LMFT)
• Master’s degree or higher in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or related field
• Experience with assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, psychotherapy, risk assessment, and clinical documentation
• Ability to satisfy insurance credentialing and payer enrollment requirements
• Documentation within required clinical and payer timelines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Dependability and professional judgment; ethical boundaries
• Ability to work with diverse clients within scope
• Proficiency with electronic health records; Valant preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate as an independent mental health professional and maintain business records
• Conduct assessments, establish diagnoses within scope, create treatment plans, provide evidence‑based psychotherapy
• Complete progress notes, treatment plans, risk documentation, and payer‑required records on time
• Maintain licenses, credentials, professional liability coverage, and continuing education
• Manage scheduling, client communication, cancellations, and continuity of care
• Comply with HIPAA, ethics, payer requirements, and laws
• Communicate promptly regarding billing, credentialing, or client accounts
• Maintain professional boundaries and practice within competence
• Participate in quality or compliance activities as required by law or contracts
• Pay self‑employment taxes and manage business expenses/insurance
