Job summary

Ellie Mental Health–Clarkston is seeking fully licensed clinicians to join as independent contractors in private practice, offering in-person and telehealth services across Michigan. This 1099 opportunity provides access to a furnished therapy office and practice-support services, including insurance credentialing and billing.

Qualifications

• Must hold an unrestricted Michigan clinical license (LMSW, LPC, LP, or LMFT).
• Master's degree or higher in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or related behavioral-health field.
• Experience with assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, psychotherapy, risk assessment, and clinical documentation.
• Ability to complete documentation and credentialing within payer timelines.
• Proficiency with electronic health records; Valant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate as an independent mental health professional and maintain business records.
• Conduct assessments, establish diagnoses, create treatment plans, and provide evidence-based psychotherapy.
• Complete progress notes, treatment plans, risk documentation, and payer-required records on time.
• Maintain licenses, credentials, professional liability coverage, and continuing education.
• Manage scheduling, client communication, cancellations, and continuity of care.
• Comply with HIPAA, ethics, payer requirements, and applicable laws.
• Communicate billing, credentialing, or client-account concerns promptly.

Education

Master’s degree or higher in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a related behavioral-health discipline

Current, unrestricted Michigan clinical license (LMSW, LPC, LP, or LMFT)
