Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. seeks a Substitute Assistant Teacher to support Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms in Hamlet, NC. This part-time, on-demand position runs 6:45am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday, and offers a daily rate of up to $101.

You’ll assist teachers, support children's learning, supervise activities, help with meals, and ensure safety. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, and preferred EDU 119 or CDA; valid driver's license and background checks are

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EDU 119 or CDA preferred.
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to actively supervise young children, move throughout classroom environments, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
