Job summary

Cape Cod Healthcare in Mashpee, MA is seeking a Patient Service Tech (Phlebotomist) to provide quality patient care by collecting specimens and ensuring accurate data entry in the laboratory LIS. This role requires professional communication with patients and staff and will involve rotating to multiple CCHC lab sites within the region.

The position operates 32/40 FLEX hours per week with rotating day shifts, including weekends, and is based at multiple Cape Cod locations.

Qualifications

Read, write and communicate in English.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License upon hire; MA license within 60 days.
Completion of basic phlebotomy program or equivalent experience.
Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Clean driving record per MVR policy.
Driver Safety Training required every 2 years.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Microsoft Office basic skills preferred.

Responsibilities

Front-line laboratory support; communicate professionally with patients, clients and staff.
Collect blood samples via venipuncture, finger and heel sticks.
Process specimens per test methodology guidelines; maintain proper temperatures.
Register patient demographics into LIS with accuracy for billing.
Enter physician orders into LIS under correct patient accounts.
Rotate across multiple CCHC laboratory sites; may be cross-covered.
Assist with on-call duties as contracted.
Maintain phlebotomy area supplies and safety protocols.
