Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Surgical Technician for the Labor & Delivery department at Clara Maass Medical Center in New Jersey. The role is hourly, per diem, with an Evening shift, offering opportunities for growth and a collaborative perioperative team focused on patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include preparing operating rooms, assisting surgeons and perioperative staff, maintaining sterility, and supporting safe, efficient procedures while ensuring high-quality care for patients.

Qualifications

• Completed a nationally or regionally accredited Surgical Technology program or hold a CST credential.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• Successful completion of departmental orientation and competency requirements.
• Per Diem schedule with flexible hours (Day/Evening/Night).

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Assist surgeons and perioperative staff during procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and adhere to aseptic technique.
• Anticipate instrumentation needs and respond to changes in procedures.
• Ensure safe operating room environment and follow safety protocols.
