Job summary

The YMCA of the North in Shoreview, MN is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor (age 16+) to teach swimming and water safety to participants of all ages. This on-site role offers flexible hours, paid training, and a free YMCA membership, with opportunities for additional hours based on program needs.

As a Swim Instructor you will supervise students, follow YMCA guidelines, and help learners develop confidence and lifelong swimming skills in a safe, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16.
• CPR + AED certification required.
• First Aid certification required.
• Oxygen certification within 120 days of hire.
• Patience and the ability to communicate with all ages.

Responsibilities

• Provide swimming instruction to students of various ages and ability levels.
• Maintain constant supervision of students and assist swimmers as needed.
• Know and communicate pool and whirlpool policies and procedures.
• Understand the YMCA Swim Lessons program and levels.
• Evaluate students and place them in the correct skill level.
