Job summary

Michigan Institute of Urology seeks a detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to support our clinical laboratory team in Saint Clair Shores. The part-time role focuses on accessioning, processing specimens, and ordering testing while upholding safety and HIPAA standards.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma, strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, EMR), and excellent written and verbal communication. Prior lab experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college coursework or technical training preferred.
• Strong computer literacy including EMR systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Accession, log, label, and process clinical specimens accurately and timely.
• Support Laboratory Technicians and manage clerical tasks in the lab.
• Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA and safety guidelines.
• Communicate clearly with clinical staff and physicians; provide quality customer service.
