Job summary

Meritus Health in Maryland is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant to support specimen quality, processing, and workflow with a blend of hands-on lab tasks and clerical duties. You will prepare specimens, assist with analyzers, and help ensure accurate reporting of results.

The role requires a high school diploma, with an associate degree preferred, and prior lab experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols are essential for success in a collaborative lab

Qualifications

• Follow clinical protocols, specifications and procedures with strong attention to detail.
• Must achieve a passing score on data entry and medical terminology tests.
• Comfortable working with minimal direct supervision and good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for testing, including centrifugation, aliquoting, measuring/recording volumes, and proper storage/packaging for in-house or referral testing.
• Support technical staff by loading and unloading specimens from analyzers.
• Perform designated laboratory procedures and help ensure accurate, reproducible reporting of results with attention to quality and detail.
• Complete complex clerical/process functions to support timely and accurate results reporting.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Associate degree in health-related field preferred
