Job summary

Northbridge Public Schools New Northbridge Elementary School - Whitinsville, Massachusetts is seeking a 3rd Grade Special Education Teacher. The position offers flexibility including job share or part-time arrangements with retirees welcome and an immediate starting date.

Will plan a program of study, create a conducive classroom environment, set objectives, employ effective instructional methods, assess progress, diagnose disabilities with district support, and communicate with families.

Qualifications

• DESE licensure in Mild/Moderate Special Needs required.
• Bachelor degree preferred for candidate.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study meeting students' needs and abilities.
• Create a conducive classroom environment for learning.
• Set objectives aligned with curriculum and communicate to students.
• Use instructional methods and materials to meet objectives.
• Assess student progress and provide reports.
• Diagnose learning disabilities with district specialists as needed.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
• Assist administration in district policy implementation and classroom management.
• Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
• Maintain professional competence and perform other duties as assigned.
