Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity and interests.
• Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and set clear, communicate objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Employ instructional methods and materials appropriate for meeting objectives.
• Assess student progress regularly and provide progress reports.
• Diagnose learning disabilities and seek district specialist assistance as required.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
• Assist administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct, and maintain fair classroom rules and procedures.
• Assist administration in District goals and policies related to educational and operational needs.
• Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees.
• Maintain and improve professional competence.
• Perform other related tasks as directed by principal or designee.
