Atlas Tube, part of Zekelman Industries, seeks a Floater Assistant Operator for its Chicago, IL facility. You will safely operate mill equipment, including coil crane and cutoff saw, with a focus on quality and safety.

The role reports to the Production Foreman and involves troubleshooting, changeovers, and ongoing training. Requirements include 5+ years in manufacturing, an associate/bachelor/trade cert, and crane certification.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or trade certification preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills, reading micrometers/calipers.
• Crane certification required; safety-minded and attendance-focused.

Responsabilités

• Operate mill equipment and maintain safety compliance.
• Troubleshoot issues and communicate with the mill crew.
• Ensure quality requirements are met and assist in maintenance.
• Calibrate micrometers and participate in changeovers.
• Support housekeeping and teamwork across shifts.
• Maintain regular onsite attendance as scheduled.
• Promote health and safety practices per policy.
