Job summary

Zekelman Industries’ Atlas Tube division in Chicago is seeking an experienced Operator to safely run and maintain production machinery, including the seam welder, mill, and scarfing unit, while meeting quality and production goals. You will perform changeovers, calibrate micrometers, and coordinate with maintenance and mill crews in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Strong mechanical aptitude and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Trade certification preferred.
• Crane certification required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate seam welder, mill and scarfing unit and perform changeovers.
• Calibrate micrometers at shift start and during changeovers.
• Maintain safety and follow production schedules and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with supervision, mill crew and maintenance for repairs.
• Relay daily production updates and keep housekeeping standards.
• Assist other team members and cross-train as needed.
• Maintain/inspect tooling and support safe, efficient operations.
