Job summary

Blue Ridge Care is seeking a compassionate LPN or RN for extended-hours hospice care in a part-time role. You will provide urgent nursing visits, symptom management, and direct care across the service area, ensuring comfort and dignity for patients and families.

You’ll work on a Friday–Sunday schedule with every other weekend, earn applicable shift differentials, and join a dedicated interdisciplinary team focused on quality, education, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Current Virginia RN license or Virginia LPN license.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Hospice, home health, ICU, critical care, or related nursing experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergent calls from patients and families during extended-hours coverage.
• Provide urgent visits to address symptom changes, patient needs, or end-of-life concerns.
• Deliver skilled nursing care in accordance with patient goals and physician orders.
• Assess and evaluate patient conditions and communicate recommendations to the care team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Educate patients and families on disease progression, symptom management, and care techniques.
• Coordinate equipment, supplies, and services needed to support quality care in the home.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Promote a safe and supportive environment for patients and families.
