Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT, is seeking a seasoned systems engineer to lead the Ship Control upgrade program, oversee installation, and certify components for overhaul and sea trials.

You will collaborate with design teams, troubleshoot on deck, and develop test procedures while adhering to FBW quality requirements. Flexible work arrangements may allow remote work depending on classification and department needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience.
• Navy background preferred.
• Knowledge of submarine construction and test philosophies is highly desirable.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the systems engineering effort to develop, build, install and certify Ship Control upgrades during Overhaul & Repair availabilities.
• Serve as a consultant to the Ship Control Hardware design team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems on the deck plates up to initial shipbuilder sea trials.
• Oversee production testing of components and systems.
• Develop troubleshooting procedures and technical documentation to support new construction.
• Provide input to support development of logistics products.
• Instruct trade personnel to FBW quality requirements and process directives.
• Provide input for test form development as required.
• Engineer review and approval of Design Disclosures.
• Development and production support of Ship Control Electrical Components.
