Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is hiring an Experienced Electrical Test Engineer to design, test and deliver electrical systems for US Navy submarines. The role is based at EB Groton Shipyard with potential flexible work arrangements.

A strong background in submarine electrical systems and shipbuilding is required. The candidate will develop and review diagrams, troubleshoot issues with the construction team, and write test procedures while mentoring junior staff and interfacing

Qualifications

• Must have AS degree in electrical engineering or related background.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
• 10+ years of submarine shipbuilding or service experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review changes to electrical system diagrams and interfaces.
• Evaluate electrical cableways design and routing drawings.
• Troubleshoot issues identified by construction team.
• Write procedures to test and maintain electrical systems.
• Interface with internal customers to ensure installation to plan.
• Support installation and test with operations.
• Mentor junior personnel.
