Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking substitute teachers and student-support staff in New Jersey. You’ll work on day-to-day assignments with the stability of W-2 employment and direct deposit pay. A Scoot consultant provides 1:1 support, career planning, and ongoing guidance to fit your skills and goals.

Roles include supervising students, fostering inclusive classrooms, and coordinating with school staff. Teaching credentials and prior experience in education are beneficial, with bilingual candidates

Qualifications

• Passion for education and putting students first.
• Empathetic nature with growth mindset and willingness to improve.
• Have a teaching credential/certificate or 30-day substitute permit.
• Experience in special education settings is a plus.
• Bilingual teaching experience is valued.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment; encourage engagement.
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions per lesson plans.
• Communicate clearly with school staff.
• Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher.
• Observe and communicate across indoor and outdoor environments.
• Meet additional role requirements as outlined in the handbook.
