Job summary

Elara Caring in Tyler, TX is seeking a Special Care Aide (SCA) to join our home-based care team. You will be the first face new clients see, ensuring a positive start to care and smooth coordination with the branch team.

This role offers travel within the service area, flexible scheduling, opportunities for growth, and meaningful work helping seniors stay safe and comfortable at home. Previous caregiving experience preferred, with a path toward leadership within Personal Care Services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum six months of experience caring for elderly or disabled individuals.
• HHA, PCA, CNA or similar certification where required.
• Basic technology skills and comfort with mobile apps and electronic documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused approach.
• Ability to travel throughout assigned service area and lift 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support new client admissions and Start of Care visits.
• Provide personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Prepare meals and assist with daily living activities.
• Perform housekeeping and household support.
• Assist with errands and transportation as needed.
• Monitor and report changes in client condition.
• Maintain accurate documentation and visit records.
• Provide coverage for open shifts and urgent staffing needs.
• Travel within service area to support clients.
• Promote Elara Caring's mission and commitment to quality care.
