Job summary

Nashville State Community College is seeking an Instructor of English for a nine-month term to deliver quality instruction in English in an equitable environment.

The position involves teaching on-ground, online, hybrid, or web-enhanced courses, primarily at the White Bridge and North Davidson campuses, with additional assignments as needed. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for the application process. Official transcripts required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in English, English Composition, Writing, or Literature.
• Master’s degree in another discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in English/Composition/Writing/Literature.
• MFA in Creative Writing.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid, or web-enhanced modes as assigned.
• Base at the White Bridge Road campus with teaching at White Bridge and North Davidson campuses.
• Submit syllabi, attend meetings, and provide timely grade submissions.
• Provide academic advising with emphasis on retention and success.
• Remain current in teaching area through professional development.
