Job summary

Tennessee Board of Regents is seeking an Adjunct Instructor in English to deliver courses via on-ground, online, or hybrid formats. You will collaborate with course leads, utilize the LMS for materials, and ensure timely grading and reporting. The role requires maintaining syllabi, monitor communications, and complying with TBR policies.

Master’s degree in English or related field is required; 18 graduate credits in English may substitute, with preference for college-level teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in English, Composition, Writing or Literature or Master’s degree in another discipline and 18 graduate credits in English, Composition, Writing or Literature
• Proven ability to teach across on-ground, online and hybrid delivery modes
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse student body and staff
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Teach courses via on-ground, online and hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned.
• Work with course leads and/or program coordinators to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences.
• Utilize the College’s learning management system to provide course materials to students.
• Submit updated department syllabus prior to the first day of class.
• Regularly check College email account and department mailbox.
• Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours, except on weekends.
• Complete all required reports, such as attendance, Early Alerts, student progress reports, grade submissions, and administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the deadlines.
• Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar.
• Comply with all College and TBR policies and guidelines.
