Job summary

Help at Home is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide one-on-one support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, both at home and in the community. Join a mission-driven team focused on dignity and independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or approved training; background check required; at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of insurance, inspection, and registration.
• Ability to work safely and respectfully in clients’ homes and communities.
• Compassion, reliability, and a desire to make a positive impact.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities at home and in community.
• Read, understand and follow the client’s ISP; report back to the IDD Program Specialist.
• Assist with daily living skills like cooking, cleaning, personal care, and transportation.
• Encourage participation in social and community activities; shopping and events.
• Help individuals achieve personal goals and celebrate progress.
• Promote choice, independence and self-advocacy.
• Accurately document care, activities and progress; communicate with team.
