Job summary

Grand Canyon University is seeking help in the campus fleet operations to wash and fuel vehicles used by staff and students. The role includes supporting off-campus washing, fueling, and general fleet tasks, with supervision from the fleet department.

Applicants should be able to work independently and as part of a team, drive large vehicles, and maintain a responsible driving record. The position is on campus with occasional off-site duties and a short-term contract ending June 30, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Assist with washing campus fleet vehicles.
• Wash vehicles at off-campus car washes as needed.
• Assist with fueling off-campus vehicles.
• Support shop cleaning, inventory, and daily tasks.
• Drive low speed vehicles as directed.
• Assist with low speed vehicle preventive maintenance.

Job description

Position Summary/Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to assist with preparing, washing, and fueling fleet rental vehicles that are used by campus employees.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions

• Assist fleet department with washing vehicles on campus
• Assist fleet department with washing vehicles at off campus car washes
• Assist fleet department with fueling vehicles off campus
• Assist fleet department with shop cleaning, inventory, and daily tasks
• Asks fleet department with low speed vehicle driving
• Assist fleet department with low speed vehicle PMs
• Other duties as assigned

Equipment Used and Responsibility:

• MS Office, Geotab, Fleet Commander

Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
• Outstanding ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks and priorities.
• Possesses basic high speed vehicle knowledge.
• Must be comfortable driving rental vehicles including large 12 and 15 passenger vans.
• Must be comfortable driving vehicles off campus to local gas stations and car washes.
• Must have an eligible drivers license and clean driving record

Experience/Education:

Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's or Master's program. Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor's student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master's student. Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University. You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
