Job summary

The City of Anaheim Public Works Department is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician II to perform journey level work in maintaining and repairing gasoline, diesel, and alternative-fuel vehicles, motorcycles, and related equipment. The Auto Shop supports a 40-member Fleet Services team in a 47,000 square-foot facility.

The ideal candidate will have journey-level light duty vehicle repair experience, strong customer service values, and the ability to work as part of a team, with duties

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience as a vehicle and equipment mechanic diagnosing, repairing, over-hauling, and maintaining vehicles, motorcycles, and equipment.
• Must provide own basic mechanics hand tools.
• Possession of a valid Class “C” California Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Lubricate and change oil on all types of light and heavy vehicles and construction equipment.
• Mount, balance, change, and repair tires and wheels.
• Perform diagnostics on vehicles and equipment; repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions on vehicles and equipment utilizing diagnostic equipment.
• Diagnose and repair emissions control systems and associated components.
• Repair and maintain HVAC systems and air conditioning.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain hydraulic and air braking systems on vehicles and equipment.
