Job summary

OC Public Works in Santa Ana is seeking a Collision Auto Body Technician II to perform journeyman-level repair, modification and painting of automobiles and heavy equipment exteriors and interiors. The role includes fender/body repair, welding, frame work, and replacement of components.

The ideal candidate will have fleet repair experience, relevant ASE/I-CAR certifications preferred, and the ability to read service bulletins and work from diagrams.

Qualifications

• Extensive auto body repair experience within fleets
• ASE and I-CAR certifications are desirable
• Ability to weld and paint vehicle exteriors and interiors

Responsibilities

• Straighten and repair fenders, body panels, and metal surfaces
• Sand and prime coats for finish painting
• Paint with spray gun and color matching
• Repair/replace doors, windows, upholstery, and brackets
• Fabricate from sheet metal to modify vehicles and equipment
• Perform welding to repair damaged vehicles/equipment
