Job summary

The Fleet Automotive Training & Development Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive training program to support City of Baltimore’s fleet of over 5,000 vehicles and equipment across 27+ customer agencies.

This role ensures that both fleet technicians and agency operators receive high-quality, up-to-date training that improves efficiency, enhances safety, and reduces repair costs.

Qualifications

• Education: Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Two (2) years of experience in technical, administrative, professional or project management work and automotive maintenance.
• PREFERRED: Strong background in automotive maintenance and repair, OEM diagnostic systems, EV technologies, and modern fleet practices.
• Licenses: Valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license or equivalent and Baltimore City permit eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive fleet training program and curricula for technicians, mechanics, operators, and managers.
• Collaborate with OEMs to create hands-on workshops and virtual training sessions.
• Lead safety training initiatives, including compliance with regulatory standards and emergency protocols.
• Design systems to track training effectiveness with feedback and performance metrics.
• Manage training budgets and resources efficiently to meet organizational goals.
