Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to join a growing team. This is a hands-on role installing GPS, telematics, cameras, and sensors across fleets, with travel to customer sites and field projects.

Ideal candidates bring automotive or fleet installations experience, jam into learning new technology, and are comfortable working independently in a mobile environment while prioritizing safety and quality work.

Qualifications

Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
Comfortable using hand and power tools.
Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical instructions.

Responsibilities

Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
