Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to join our growing team. You will install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet technology across vehicles and trailers.

Ideal candidates have automotive, mechanical, electrical, or installation background and a passion for learning new technology. This hands-on role offers training, safety focus, and opportunities for ASE/I-CAR certifications.

Qualifications

Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
Comfortable using hand and power tools.
Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
