Job summary

NAFA Fleet Management Association seeks a Fleet Technician to assist with preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs across a fleet of tractors, trailers, and related equipment. The role emphasizes safe, cost-effective operations and timely diagnostics.

The position requires knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostic software, and a valid driver’s license. The schedule runs 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with pay between $25.00 and $30.00 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-year heavy-duty truck tech training.
• Annual Inspector Certification knowledge.
• Brake Inspector Certification knowledge.
• ASE Certification – Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty.
• Working knowledge of OEM diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, convertor dollies, lift gates, and light-duty vehicles to maximize safety, reliability and cost efficiency.
• Perform maintenance repairs and document all work orders (SAP) accurately.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specs (engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
• Ensure safety and reliability throughout fleet lifecycle and adhere to DOT requirements.
• Learn and develop efficiency in maintenance-related Sysco computer programs.
