Job summary

The City and County of Denver is seeking a Fleet Technician I to join our Fleet Management team. This role focuses on repair, inspection, and maintenance for light to heavy fleet vehicles using diverse fuel technologies and modern diagnostic tools.

Recent graduates are welcome to apply. The position offers a 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM shift, with a 7% pay increase for this scheduling, and is based at either the Roslyn or Central Platte facility in Denver.

Qualifications

Associate degree or trade school certification in automotive maintenance is preferred.
Able to be flexible with hours and willing to work weekends/overtime as needed.
ASE Airbrake Certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

Inspect equipment brought to shop for structural integrity and safety issues.
Repair or replace worn parts not requiring major mechanical work; report major problems.
Inspect primary and auxiliary operating systems for faults and wear.
Remove, repair, and replace wheels and tires on equipment.
Respond to emergency road service on tires, tubes, and wheels.
Remove and replace sealed beam lighting units, bulbs, and fuses.
Operate all types of vehicles and equipment to servicing and storage area.
Wash and steam clean equipment and work area.
Participate in snow removal duties as assignments.
