Job summary

The Quad City Garage Policy Group, an entity of MetroLINK Transit, seeks a full-time technician to maintain a fleet of compressed natural gas and electric buses. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical systems, including heavy brake, suspension, engine and transmission work, and assess safety needs.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Completion of vocational or technical training strongly desired.
• Must be 21+ with a valid driver's license.
• CDL training provided; CDL license paid by employer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a fleet of compressed natural gas and electric buses.

Job description

The Quad City Garage Policy group, an entity of MetroLINK Transit, is looking to hire a Full-Time Technician. Pay is $39.02 - $41.82, depending on qualifications. ASE certified techs receive an annual bonus.

Technicians maintain a fleet of compressed natural gas and electric buses. Technicians inspect, troubleshoot and diagnose causes of electrical and mechanical malfunctions, make repairs to electrical components and systems, perform heavy repair of brakes, suspension, engines and transmissions and examine vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required.

Candidates need to have a H.S. diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience. Completion of vocational or technical training strongly desired. Must be 21 years of age and have a valid drivers license. The Garage will provide paid CDL training and will pay for your CDL license.
