Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to join our team. You will install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet technology across vehicles, including trucks and trailers, while traveling to customer sites.

Ideal candidates have automotive/mechanical/electrical backgrounds and are comfortable with wiring, diagnostics, and tools. ASE/I-CAR certifications are a plus; valid license and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
Comfortable using hand and power tools.
Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Professional communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in, around, and underneath vehicles.
21+ years of age.

Responsibilities

Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
