Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet technology across vehicles and trailers. You’ll work hands-on with 12V/24V wiring, troubleshoot systems, and document installations while prioritizing safety and quality.

Ideal candidates have automotive/mechanical/electrical backgrounds, strong tool skills, and a willingness to learn new technologies in a mobile, customer-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and use hand/power tools.
• Willingness to learn new fleet technology.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and fleet assets.
• Perform 12V/24V wiring including power, ignition, ground, and trailer connections.
• Route and secure wiring for clean installations.
• Test connectivity and system functionality; diagnose issues.
• Document installations with photos and notes.
• Maintain safety and right-first-time quality.
• Occasionally travel for mobile installations and projects.
