Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to join our team in Texas. You will install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet technology across vehicles, trucks, tractors, and trailers.

This hands-on role is ideal for someone with automotive, electrical, or installation background who wants to learn new technology. You’ll travel to customer sites for mobile installations, document work with photos and notes, and maintain safety and

Qualifications

Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical or installation experience.
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
Comfortable using hand and power tools.
Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work around vehicles.

Responsibilities

Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
