Pay:

$34.00 - $38.00 per hour, depending on experience

Work Hours:

Monday through Friday - Full Time

Job Summary

The Fleet Support Technician is responsible for supporting day-to-day fleet operations by moving company vehicles and trucks between company locations, vendors, repair facilities, inspection stations, dealerships, and other assigned destinations. This position helps keep fleet work moving by handling vehicle logistics, basic fleet equipment installation, minor vehicle updates, telematics installation support, and fleet readiness tasks under the direction of the Fleet Supervisor.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Moves company vehicles, trucks, and equipment between company locations, repair facilities, inspection stations, vendors, body shops, dealerships, upfitters, and other assigned locations.
  • Coordinates vehicle movement with the Fleet Supervisor, Fleet, Facilities & Projects Manager, operations supervisors, mechanics, vendors, and drivers.
  • Picks up and delivers vehicles for inspections, repairs, maintenance, equipment installation, registration needs, detailing, decals, reassignment, or removal from service.
  • Completes required vehicle inspections, defect reports, logs, or related documentation when applicable.
  • Installs and supports Samsara cameras, gateways, mounts, cables, sensors, and related telematics equipment.
  • Installs ladder racks, shelving, tool mounts, storage accessories, fire extinguisher brackets, safety triangles, first aid kits, spill kits, vehicle document holders, and other required vehicle equipment.
  • Installs or replaces decals, labels, asset tags, inspection stickers, permit holders, and vehicle identification materials as assigned.
  • Prepares new vehicles for deployment by installing or verifying required company equipment, documents, safety equipment, telematics, and accessories.
  • Supports vehicle decommissioning by removing company equipment, telematics devices, fuel cards, documents, decals, and assigned accessories as directed.
  • Replaces or installs basic items such as wiper blades, bulbs, safety equipment, license plate brackets, document holders, decals, mud flaps, simple fasteners, and other minor accessories.
  • Checks and tops off basic fluids, checks tire pressure, assists with battery checks or jump starts, and completes other minor readiness tasks when trained and authorized.
  • Maintains basic inventory of frequently used installation supplies, including fasteners, mounts, brackets, labels, camera equipment, wiring accessories, and safety equipment as assigned.
  • Returns unused equipment and removed parts to proper storage or disposition locations.
What It Takes
  • Valid CDL-B with Hazmat endorsement required and must be maintained as a condition of employment.
  • DOT qualification and company driver eligibility requirements
  • Prior experience moving, inspecting, supporting, or working around commercial vehicles, delivery vehicles, service vehicles, propane vehicles, fuel vehicles, utility vehicles, or similar fleet equipment preferred.
  • Experience installing vehicle accessories, ladder racks, brackets, safety equipment, telematics devices, cameras, wiring, mounts, or similar vehicle-mounted equipment preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to learn company standards for Samsara equipment installation, camera placement, ladder rack installation, safety equipment installation, and vehicle readiness checks.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor vehicle updates, adjustments, and repairs within assigned authority.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, checklists, manufacturer instructions, installation guidance, safety information, and company procedures.
  • Ability to identify and report unsafe vehicle conditions, missing equipment, damaged equipment, fluid leaks, tire concerns, lighting issues, telematics issues, and other fleet concerns.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with supervisors, drivers, vendors, mechanics, and other employees.
  • Proficiency with basic phone, tablet, email, photo, and mobile application use required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at times; heavier items may require assistance or mechanical means.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
