Job summary

InfraServices is seeking a Fleet Technician II to maintain and repair a range of light and heavy-duty equipment, ensuring safe, reliable operation for our field operations and transportation teams. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment with travel up to 25%.

Qualified candidates will have a CDL, welding skills, ability to operate shop equipment, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship in all tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or related trade school education.
  • 3+ years as Fleet Technician I or similar, plus 1–3 years automotive work experience.
  • Welding and fabrication abilities required.
  • CDL and forklift operation skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair on light and heavy equipment, including trucks and trailers.
  • Fix vehicle deficiencies and escalate high-level issues with a work order.
  • Assist with more advanced repairs as needed.
  • Test drive vehicles and adjust controls for proper operation.
  • Maintain vehicle appearance and document services accurately.
  • Maintain records and complete company documentation promptly.
  • Ensure safety procedures and company standards are followed at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Fleet Technician II is responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of various light and heavy-duty equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair on various equipment, including light and heavy-duty trucks, utility trailers, specialty trailers, power generation equipment, and other specialized equipment
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies within skill level (e.g. change, replace, and repair tires, brake systems, bearings, and light systems), and escalating high level deficiencies that require a work order to management
  • Assist with more advanced repairs
  • Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems
  • Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, painting, and installing decals
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs accurately and in a timely manner
  • Complete all required Company documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, regulations, and Company standards at all times
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

Education

High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education

Experience
  • Proven success in a Fleet Technician I role for at least three years, or equivalent experience in a similar position
  • One to three years of automotive work experience
  • Ability to weld and fabricate parts and assemblies
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts, light-duty trucks, CDL trucks, and trailers
Technical Skills
  • Commercial driver’s license (CDL) required
  • Ability to operate shop machinery and equipment
  • Ability to use hand tools
Soft Skills
  • Initiative and accountability for completing tasks accurately and safely
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Team oriented with effective communication skills
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
  • Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat, and lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods
  • Ability to work in various settings with moderate to loud noise levels
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Ability to work long and unpredictable hours
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including short notice travel. Travel includes local site travel or national travel depending on business needs

$22 - $26 an hour
