Job summary

Orange County Public Schools seeks an experienced fleet maintenance leader to oversee diesel and gasoline vehicle and equipment repairs. The role directs shop activities, assigns work, monitors quality, and ensures compliance with safety standards and maintenance schedules.

The position requires extensive repair expertise, CDL-B with passenger endorsement, and may require certification updates. A proactive leader will drive efficiency and training across the district fleet services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six (6) years progressive, knowledgeable work in maintenance/repair of motor vehicles, diesel and gasoline.
• ASE Master School Bus Technician Certification preferred; shop foreman/supervisor experience preferred.
• CDL Class B with passenger endorsement required or to be obtained within six months of hiring.
• Must maintain School Bus Inspector certificate.

Responsibilities

• Respond to internal/external customers professionally and represent OCPS positively.
• Plan, organize, coordinate and direct fleet maintenance and repair activities.
• Lead and coordinate district fleet services tasks and projects.
• Inspect work for adherence to specs and safety standards.
• Ensure preventative maintenance schedules and safety policies are followed.
