Job summary

The City of Denton, TX, is seeking an experienced leader to oversee the Fleet Services Division and guide the department’s strategic plan, policies, and priorities. You will manage service, repair, acquisitions, and fleet operations while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to meet city objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 5 years in fleet services, project management, local government, or related field.
• Three (3) years supervisory experience.
• Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Fleet Services Division's operations and strategic planning using data to assess effectiveness.
• Lead acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of fleet assets and manage contract issues.
• Direct the Citywide Bulk Fuel program ensuring reliable fuel supply.
• Plan and manage day-to-day division workgroup activities with controls and safety measures.
• Evaluate programs to meet stakeholder needs and implement improvements.
• Identify innovative ideas to enhance fleet services.
• Monitor KPIs and ensure alignment with industry standards and strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on fleet resource management and service requests.
• Ensure compliance with city policies, laws, and regulations.
• Mitigate operational risks through proactive measures.
