Job summary

The City of Denton seeks an experienced executive to lead the Fleet Services Division, overseeing service, repair, acquisitions, asset management, and operational reporting while contributing to the department’s strategic plan.

Responsibilities include directing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance, managing contracts and budgets, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to optimize fleet performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field as listed.
• Five years’ experience in fleet services, project management, local government, or related field.
• Three years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Fleet Services Division, overseeing all service, repair, acquisitions, auction, business operations, operational reporting, and executive correspondence; actively participate in the strategic planning process, utilizing measurable data to assess operational effectiveness.
• Lead all administrative matters related to the City of Denton’s fleet including acquisition, replacement, asset management, maintenance, repair, and disposal.
• Lead the Citywide Bulk Fuel program; ensure seamless supply of fuel to the City’s fleet.
• Plan, direct, and manage the day-to-day operations of assigned division workgroups; establish and maintain controls, safety measures, and accountability procedures.
• Analyze and evaluate programs and services to meet internal and external stakeholder needs and goals; develop and implement corrective action(s).
• Research and identify innovative ideas to enhance services and programs within the City’s Fleet Services Division.
• Oversee the Fleet Services strategic plan; monitor KPIs to ensure division meets benchmarks and initiatives.
• Work with stakeholders on fleet resource management and review service requests as appropriate.
• Administer departmental contract management and support contract dispute resolution efforts.
• Ensure all procedures meet City policy and applicable laws and regulations.
• Monitor operational risks and implement mitigating measures.
