Job summary

The City of Galveston is seeking a Fleet Service Technician to perform routine vehicle maintenance and repairs at the City’s Garage. You will conduct oil changes, tune ups and inspections on a variety of fleet vehicles, ensuring safety and reliability for city operations.

You will interact with citizens and City staff professionally, follow safety procedures, and participate in emergency readiness. A high school diploma and at least one year of automotive experience are required, plus a Texas

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year of basic automotive maintenance and repair experience.
• Texas Driver's License preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Performs oil changes and tune ups on vehicles.
• Checks tires, fluids, filters, wiper blades, belts, hoses and lights.
• Checks gear oil on vehicles.
• Interacts with the public and City staff in a courteous, professional manner.
• May be required to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds and work in varied environments.
