Job summary

CTTRANSIT is seeking a leader to develop and conduct system-wide maintenance safety and technical training programs. The role includes scheduling vendor training, managing certification, and overseeing a formal mechanics training and apprentice program.

You will direct daily operations of the maintenance training department, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, and ensure compliance with safety policies while maintaining training records and equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Strong project management and training program development experience.
• Experience managing employees in union environments is preferred.
• Proficiency with standard software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases) and willingness to learn internal systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct system-wide maintenance safety and technical training programs.
• Schedule specialized vendor training and oversee fleet certification processes.
• Direct day-to-day operation of the maintenance training department.
• Coordinate with internal and external providers for training needs and equipment updates.
• Maintain training records, manuals, bulletins and technical library access.
• Ensure safety observations and incidents are reported and investigated as needed.
